MICA Network has funded Red Paramount Iron project called : “Lac Virot Project Phase 1 and 2 Pilot Plant” The steel industry is directly responsible for 2.6 Gt/a of CO2 emissions, which must be 60% lower by 2050 (i.e., 0.6 tonnes of CO2 per tonne of crude steel compared with 1.4–1.8 at present).
